RI Shotokan Karate-Do
Master Martin and Sensei Dacey founded R.I. Shotokan Karate-Do in 1999 at it's first dojo in the Mill off Park Ave in Cranston, R.I.  Master Martin is the Chief Instructor and President of R.I. Shotokan Karate-Do.  This association of independent Shotokan dojo's presently has four member dojo's located throughout the state of R.I.  The Hombu Dojo is located in Providence, R.I.   Master Martin has trained in the martial arts for the past 45 years.   
ShojuKempo International
Master Martin is also the founder and President of Shojukempo International.  Teaching traditional Shotokan Karate-do & Okinawan Kempo as the foundation of Shojukempo, and Combat Aikijujitsu is taught as the third leg of this system.

Master Jody Gibson
Jody was a great instructor and good friend to all of us.  He passed away several years ago and is missed by all the instructors and students at Coventry Shotokan Karate.

Teji Saito, Grandmaster, founded the International Ryu Kyu Kai Karate Association 1954 in Kyoto, Japan.   The International Ryu Kyu Kai Karate Association is a non-profit educational organization, promoting the arts and disciplines of the various styles, dedicated to the unification and recognition of all Japanese influenced Martial Arts. International Ryu Kyu Kai Karate Association an international fellowship of martial artists, dedicated to the principles, philosophies, promotion, training and endorsement of various Japanese influenced systems around the world. Hanshi Handley began his martial arts study in 1964 under Teji Saito Grandmaster in Saito Ha shotokan karate-do, and later spent four years living and training with the Grandmaster in kyoto Japan. In 1999 Hanshi Handley was promoted to the rank of 8th Dan and appointed the President and Chief Operating Officer of the International Ryu Kyu Kai Karate-do Association by Saito Grandmaster.
